OSAAT Challenge #2

It's here!! (and I'm late) The New Challenge and NEW LOOK One Stitch At A Time Challenge number two!!!
I know you didn't guess what my sneaky peek was, because this time round over on
One Stitch At A Time
it's a
Sketch!!

by one of our DT Susan

I must admit when I first saw the sketch I thought.. oh...whirly bits! ... ummm....circles, and a few more oh-ums... but then Great news came. Our fabby new Challenge this week is being sponsored by the lovely Karen from
Karen's Doodles!!

You can win three of her fabulous Digi Images and if you use one of Karen's doodles, you'll be entered into the new weekly Challenge Twice!
Did I say weekly??? Yes! From now on OSAAT is going weekly!! T
his challenge will end MIDNIGHT 6th March and the next challenge will start MIDDAY 7th March!
This cute little tiger flying with his balloons is just one of Karen's creations!! Us lucky DT members had a chance to chose one of Karen's drawings from her on-line shop.
It was a very hard choice..I had three favourites and ended up changing my mind but then as soon as I spotted this...
I knew just what I was going to do with him!! A picture formed in my mind ((ohoo scarrry!!) and suddenly the sketch was easy!!! I made Baby Mason his first Birthday Card (First time early for me as his birthday's not until September!!)

Clink on Karen's blinky below to take you over to her lovely on-line shop, you too won't be able to make up your mind!Back to the card...I printed the little tiger out twice and coloured him in using my Promaker pens and then cut round him using a scalloped Nestabilities circle, which cut off his tail and popped his balloons but that way, I still keep the strings to his balloons when I cut out the second tiger...
(with me so far??)
The second tiger was lightly rubbed on the back...that's the back of the card...although, I think he quite liked it!! to make him curve slightly. I then fixed him over the first tiger image with a blob of silicone glue, giving it a 3D effect. Then I added the balloons in the same way.
I also edged the cut sides with a little extra black. (that hides any mistakes too!)
I've used Pink Petticoat papers. The small brick stamp was from Trago Mills, so I guess that's from Do-crafts. (It was only about 50p, down from 1.49 wish there was one near me!!)
The circled writing was done on my computer. Now...I can hear you...( I can't smell, I mean spell but I can hear.) If you don't have a Karen doodle, you can use any image you have, don't forget, it's now a weekly challenge and you can use the sketch in any way you like. Scrap pages, fat pages, ATC's, cards, altered art, anything crafty!!
A Karen Freebie??? Well, shh! don't tell everyone...yes... you can pop over to her shop (click the blinky above and go hunt!) or go over to SRN Universe (or Paper Craft Planet) become a member, then join 'Karen's Doodle's' group and watch out for the followers Freebie!!
So...what are you wanting for!! Pop over to

One Stitch At A Time
and have a go!!!

Back later to add more information, which I forgotten to put here and to add where you can download the font I used on my card...it's a freebie!! oh and to add a few more pictures and any challenges I can find!!! Back Later!

New addition!! The freebie font is called Apple Butter and you can download it HERE. This has been done on 'WordArt on your computer so I could circle it and and two colours.

One stitch At A Time's new challenge starts today, (any minute now!!) So I'm sneaking in this quick peek at my DT card! What's The Challenge going to be this time? Who won the last challenge!! What's happened to One Stitch??? Pop over to the New Look
blog and all will be revealed! We had 101 entries into our first Challenge, lets try and beat that with the next one!!!

Spyder's Corner Followers: Birthday Blog Candy!!! A Guessing game!

Spyder's Corner Follower's Blog Candy!!
This post will stay at the top until March 12th
(or until I get bored with it!!! and then it'll drop down with an added link from whatever's on the top post!)

Please scroll down for new posts
(much more exciting than this!)
My blog has now be running for a year. Although I did have a few attempts at starting one before, but failed miserably!! With my small brain, I did find it quite hard working out what everything meant!! What to do with it, and where to put it once I'd got it!! But, finally I worked it out and if I can do it, anyone can!!!
Not only is it my blog's birthday but it's also my birthday next month (and it's me and him indoors wedding anniversary the month after that) and I've had well over 22,000 hits!! Which isn't too bad for an ordinary blog not doing anything much more than showing off a few hand made cards (and talking too much!).

So I thought it would be a good idea to do a bit of a
'thing' with the candy. The more followers who enter, the more there will be!! (so don't all rush at once!)

But first the hard part... this is a 'Followers' Candy...

1. I'd love you to 'post' my Candy on your blog and/or side bar with a link back here. That's the important one, and I will be checking!!
2. Then I'd love you to have a guess at how many flowers are in my Flower drum!! There's 15 compartments, filled with all kinds of flowers, different kinds of paper, silk, felt, self-sticking, glittery, even a few padded ones. There's very large flowers as well as very small ones!

I will count them all now, and put the number into a tiny envelope, so if I just happen to use a few in the next couple of weeks, the number that's in there NOW is the number I want you to guess!!!

3. You can have an extra guess if you find a post with no comments!! Comment that you've found it and then nip back here for your extra go! (I'll be adding a few more for you to find!!
So, whoever is first to comment here will be able to have two guesses!!)

I'll start the candy off with an assortment of Peel offs stickers.... the more people who guess the more the candy will grow!! And as it grows I will add more pictures...
In case of a tie, the candy will be shared! if no one gues
ses the correct amount, the followers closest to the right number (higher or lower) will be put into a hat (their guesses not them. ) given a good shake and will be chosen by Frog the Cat!! So???
"How Many Flowers are in the Drum???"
.Just add your names and guesses below!!

Frog the Cat...helping me cut the hedge

CANDY NOW CLOSED!!
Thank you to everyone who had a guess!!

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?

It's that time of the week again. What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday? It crept up on me before I had a chance to tidy up! Oh dear. Well my excuse is, I've been busy, even if there's no cards to see...they are there...hiding, because they're waiting to go out at a later date.
This was my desk last night and first thing this morning before I had to shoot off to work. A bit of a mess I know, (but better than it has been) and a little bit of a clue to one or even two of my forthcoming DT cards... and also the remnants of the cute shaker card I made for The Quirky Crafts Cute Challenge at the weekend (Have you had a go yet??? It's 'cute', a very easy challenge!! A good one to start with if you've never been brave enough to have a go!!)
I had my flower drum thingy down, trying to match up some flowers to some lovely papers and of course there's the ever present coffee/tea cup! I think there might even be two empty chocolate wrappers about somewhere...just the wrappers this time! I've eaten the chocolate!
I also wanted to include one of my note books, the one with the cats on it. They are very much like someone else's table cloth I spied in last weeks WOYWW...
Now, if you've been visiting everyone's messy rooms (and tidy ones) you might have noticed it too, the table cloth that is....have a guess at who had a table cover similar to these cats and you'll be in with a chance of winning a mixture of stamped images. (Don't all rush at once!!) I'll tell you the answer and the winner next Wednesday...of course if no one gives a hoot I won't mention it ever again and pretend I typed this in my sleep! You can send your answers to this email: - thedaydreamer at hotmail dot co dot uk
Why not pop over to The Stamping Ground and have a shifty at everyone's mess-I mean- lovely work tops!?

We (that's the Royal we) have a new follower!! A big (((wave)) and Hello to Deborah!! Better known to everyone I should think, ('specially on the TrimCraft Forum) as Rusty Cage. Deborah has some fabulous creations over on her blog, The Rusty Cage. She's into all kinds of crafty stuff, so pop over and have a looky-see!!
That's it for now...I'm dog sitting tonight! ah, bless them!

It's Shaking Quirky Cutieness!

Did you guess??? Cutieness?? Is that a word? No, probably not! Firstly, before I say any more, thank you to everyone who joined in with The Quirky Craft's first (in blog-land) Challenge! (Valentine's/Foreign) I had great fun hopping round to all your blogs and having a good shifty at everything you'd made. There really is a fabulously lot of talented crafters out there!
Fe-fe set the last Challenge, and she has already announced the winner over on the Challenge Blog... but just in case you've missed it...the winner was...Drum rolled please Sid...oops..Sid's got flu, so let's ask Peter to ring one of his fabulous bells!!

Well Done Susan, a lovely take on the challenge. A beautifully made 'Paris Scene!'

The New Quirky Craft's Challenge this time has been set by the one and only Gez and it's...
(Another bell ring please Peter....thank you! )

"CUTE!"

You can create anything you like for the challenge, a card, scrapbook page, ATC, fat page, altered art etc. but it must have a cute theme.

Once again The Challenge is being sponsored by
The Cutting Cafe
who are kindly giving the winner of this challenge three downloads of their choice. Pop over to Quirky Craft's Blog to see what all the Design Team have come up with this time! You have until Saturday 6th March to enter for this challenge and the winner will be chosen by Gez, the Design Team member who set the challange.

There's still time if you want to apply for the Quirky Crafts design team. You have until 28th Feb.

I've made one of my favourites, a shaker card, using A Penny Black Stickeroo. The wording comes from the Cutting Cafe. As you can see, once more, I couldn't make up my mind on which sentiment to use, so took two pictures with different words and even added extra cuteness on the second with two mice as well as the cat!
The lovely papers I used are from Papermania, 'Blueberry Hill' A5 pack. The tiny little heart buttons are really cute (I think so!) I've sewn some tiny beads to them to make them even cuter! I've used Woodware punches to make the flowers and leaves. The yellow brads are from my stash, a Martha Stewart punch for the lace effect. The ribbon is in fact pink but looks a little peachy in the photo. I've used tiny little white, pink and blue beads inside the shaker window. Hope you like the challenge. I think it's a really easy one , who doesn't love CUTE??? I can't wait to come and visit all your blogs!! Have fun and good luck!!

My third week on WOYWW!

It's Wednesday again... where does the week go??? Yep, it's my third week on 'What's on Your Work-desk' and there's not much going this week. I didn't tidy my draws but I've been busy, so of course I haven't been tidy, but on saying that, it's not as bad as it usually gets!!
The pink card in front I started last night. My printer's running out of ink so I only printed out half a page of Pink Petticoat Grandma's Wall paper, it makes the pattern a little smaller too. I put it back into the printer while I tried to find a negative/positive paper to match, but got distracted. Had an email from the Crafts-On-the Net-forum... and a link to their latest freebie magazine and papers to download, so I popped over to have a look. Loved the papers and forgot I already had printed paper in the printer and ended up with the papers you see on the pink card. It's actually RED, with a little white and yellow (you can just see that on the cut paper) but because I'm running out of ink and the fact that it's printed over a Pink Petticoat pattern, it's come out all PINK. I really like it and only hope I can do it again! Now all I have to do, is think of what to do with it... shame to cover it up!! A big flower and a bit of ribbon maybe??
On the rest of my desk is the compulsory cup of tea, still hot! A half eaten chocolate bar and some atc's I was sending out but might not now, not sure they're good enough! It's supposed to be just using your scraps, I'm not sure half a teddy and some tiny bits of Christmas paper will be enough.
There's also some lovely 'love' ATC's I received today from Card Making Downloads forum.. (they got these from me) AND a waterfall card I was trying to do for ScrapbookingMad's Competition this month...(I get those two muddle up!!) but that's when the printer started drying up. Sometimes it makes lovely colours but other times... not so good!!
After watching some Video's on YouTube last night, I've now 'mastered' layering on my Bamboo. This is my first attempt. It's supposed to be an alien landscape.
Freebies today?? Yes. Pink Petticoat link on my side bar, some lovely lemon papers, don't forget to link back to their blog if you make something and join in with their latest competition. Bug a boo Stamps. Cute images, pop over to their blog and enter their challenge, I might use one on this card! And Dustin Pike is offering freebie Owls for you all to make a card for a little girl called Delia.. more infro on his blog.
New Follower!! Big (((wave))) and Hi to Tamara!! No link on the pic but will put the link in later so you'll all be able to pop over and say hello!!

One Stitch At A Time Challenge goes Live!!!

It's Noon!! (or a bit after...) and the
New Challenge blog goes live!!!
The first Challenge to get all your creative juices flowing is...
(drum roll please Sid...)
Stitching!!!!
Now this can be real stitching, (for the clever ones) drawn stitching, peel off stitching, rub on stitching and even that lovely hand made paper with stitching all ready on it! Any thing you can make that will show stitching any where on your work of art will meet the challenge!
Simples!!
And of course there's candy! Including a GDT Spot and a choice of 3 Digi images from the boss lady herself...
Also, there will be a little badge for you to place on your side bar if you come first, second, or third in the Challenge!
Click on the 'Stitchy' banner below to take you quickly to the Challenge Blog!! You can also take this badge and place it on your sidebar with a link back to 'One Stitch at A Time'. Then you'll always know where to find us!

UPDATE** The banner has now been changed and can be found on my side bar. Look for the Stitchy Bear banner, it will take you to the new shop!!

All of us on the DT team have been very busy (and have aged ten years) making all sorts of lovelies with Stitchy's Digital creations. You of course can use ANYTHING... (with in reason!) last weeks dinner, dead animals and old socks, will be frowned upon!! although not completely dismissed if you follow the challenge, which is... Just to remind you!! STITCHING. but!! if you do use any of Stitchy's lovely Digital images, you get to go into the draw twice!
I've chosen to use the lovely...

Miss Weeble
Don't you think she's cute! Do you remember the Weebles wobble and they don't fall down? I loved-I mean my girls loved playing with them for hours...we had a house and a little car and a little cart with a horse..and...anyway...

In the making of my card I used papers from The Crafthouse Press book , 'Papers Papers Papers' which is full of loads of lovely papers (of course) that you just pull out. I added, peel-offs, and used Promaker pens to colour in Miss Weeble.
The
punched out sign at the bottom reads 'Love' according to the punch, but on my peel-offs, it's called 'Blessed'
The flowers
were made by punching out five hearts and adhering them together and adding that lovely pearl brad. My stitching?? I can't sew for toffee! (chocolate maybe!) so I used my fine line maker pen and some ribbon with zig-zag stitching running through it.
So??? What are you waiting for! A very easy challenge to get you all started!! Back later...to add the inside pictures of my card and where you can get the free font I used...or to change all of the above and hide!

*The font I used inside my card is called 'Cute'. It's quite a hard one to find because of the name, you tend to get loads of 'cute' font but I tracked it down and you can download it for free HERE

ATC's Swap. Inventions.

A few more ATC's. These go under the heading 'Inventions'. I thought of rockets ships and telescopes for some reason. Now all I have to do, is remember where they have to go!
They nearly went off instead of those Teddy 'Love' ATC's in the post below! I think they still need something else...a bit of bronze, silver or gold embossing maybe? Only the heat will probably make them curl up, so maybe not!
Most of the images I found on the Internet. The stamp has James Watt's steam engine on it, which I found while rummaging in one of my small craft boxes full of old stamps. See, it pays never to throw any thing away!
Some of the other scribbles you can see are by Leonardo Da Vinci who wasn't just a famous artist but an incredible inventor as well, coming up with stuff way before his time. Did you know he used to write backwards in rude characters with his left hand so no one could understand what he'd written? Some of his inventions were the Armoured car, the eight barrelled machine gun and the Ornithopter flying machine! All that from making a few ATC's...what ever next!
Oh look we've lost a follower and gained one!! ((I've had to turn off the Anonymous thingy to stop the spam!!)) Sorry to the follower with no link, no picture and no name... it was nice having you these last few months (I wonder who they were?) Anyway!! Hello and welcome to Fairy454!! no link on the pic but that's what we have Google for!! Pop over to Fairypixeler and say Hi!
I did promise a sneak peek of tomorrows DT card, didn't I? Ah well it's late...my bed is calling to me... or something is... so that'll have to wait til the morning! Night night!

ATC's Teddy Love

Haven't made ATC's for ages but just lately I've been making three lots of three. Needless to say I got them all muddled up and nearly sent the wrong ones to the wrong swap! I actually got to the Post Office and that little voice in my head said, "Hey, aren't these suppose to be Love" and you know, for once that little voice was right!
These ATC's were made for a swap on The Cardmarking Down loads Forum. The theme was 'Love' (of course!!) I usually do them all differently, or a bit different, but this time I did them all the same, just slightly different colours. Pink, Red and Magenta.
I used Forever Friends clear stamps, coloured them using Promakers pens. The main paper was a freebie ages ago from ScrapGirls called 'Bright side papers Pink Heart' and I think they go quite well! There's a few Love themed freebies over there right now.
Back tomorrow with more ATC's... (The one's I muddled these with) and how's about a sneak peek of my first DT card for the One Stitch At A Time Challenge blog??? Hmmm? I might let you see a tiny piece of it!!! We already have 70 followers and we haven't even started yet! So don't forget to call in. It starts February 14th!!! 12 noon!!! Oh My Goodyness!!! Well, that's me done for the day!! Thanks for stopping by!
