My First Tag

This is my first go at making a tag for a swap over on the CardMaking & PaperCraft Forum. Book Marks last time, this time MotherGoose chose Tags, with a fabulous YouTube link to give us some ideas.
(What's that? A video link? Why didn't you watch it then?) Oho, don't be cheeky! Ok, so I didn't actually watch all the video... til now... but it's worth a look.. Anyway, back to this... the theme was, I think, Flowers and Lace. Actually this is my second tag as the first one ended up in the bin. (With all the bits that could be used again pulled off) I have done a few little Christmas tags before, but I've never put them on here, or I may've done, can't remember, anyway, they don't count! This is the first luggage size tag I've made...
This first picture is the front. (no!) I thought I'd better say, as to tell you the truth, I don't 'get tags'. What are they used for? I'm hardly going to tie this to my suitcase next time we nip over to Seattle, am I? (oh and talking of Seattle...picture of Mason in the snow coming up...)
Anyway, before you die of boredom, the second picture is the front again, showing another pulled out tag. There was a gap, so I thought I may as well use it.
The next picture shows the back, and this is where you can see I didn't watch all the video coz I covered it the same as the front and then wondered where I was going to add my details, but then in the fourth picture you'll see I've added another smaller tag, which is where I wrote my details... so they know who sent it. I know, I shoulda left that bit out and not owned up to it. What I need of course is, some more distressing stuff, more charms and lace and crackle paints and pearls...Hopefully, my next one will be better!

Off With His Quirky Head!

Or maybe not!! It would be a bit messy! But it's a good clue to the theme of the new challenge, which has already started over on The Quirky Craft's Challenge Blog It should get your brain juices thinking hard (mine shrivelled up and still hasn't quite recovered yet! but no one will notice!) This time the new Challenge is being sponsored by...dah dah dah daaaaah!!

**The Stamp Boutique**

The winner will receive 5 digital stamps of their choice from Tracey's Boutique!
Well, what's the challenge then? Oh yes, I forgot!! This fortnights challenge over on Quirky Crafts has been set by Cazzy and the theme is...

Alice In Wonderland!

I'm sure even those of you who have never read the book or seen the cartoon or even the films, still know the basic story. Girl, sees a white talking rabbit (with watch) follows it, (as you would) falls down a very deep hole (survives) and meets all kinds of weird people and very strange animals... (sounds like my every day life!) Some freebie Alice images can be found HERE. Can't be made any bigger but they are fun to play with!
So what we'd like to see in your crafty makes this time is something you'd find in the story. A white rabbit... a watch, a smiley cat or a Mad Hatter! Teapots, mice, caterpillars, turtles or even a Jabberwocky!
Now, I've made two DT cards for this challenge. One using an image from our lovely sponsors (That's a rabbit too!) and this one using the White Rabbit cartoon image you can buy from Bugaboo. I'll show you the other card when I've finished it!
The backing paper was a freebie, (some time ago) from the Simply Cards and PaperCraft Magazine.
I made the Drink Me bottle and the paint brush and my own back ground scene, then coloured everything using Promakers. The flowers where punched out of scraps of white papers, which had been half coloured red (They painted the white roses red in the story) There's a dollop of red Stickles glitter on the 'roses' too and some fine micro glitter on the white rabbit's bow-tie. The rabbit was printed out twice, and the second one fixed over the first to give him a 3D affect. (effect?)
The key was a brad (by Woodware) but I cut it's legs off (ouch, cruel beast!) and used a bit of florist's wire to attach it to the sentiment.
The font is a freebie, GoodDog Cool. There's a link on the post below this one to where you can download it, along with GoodDog.
Please pop over to the Challenge Blog and have a look at what the rest of the Design Team have come up with, including of course the fabulous make from our Guest designer!
Thanks for stopping by!

Take It Easy, Card For Dad

Wouldn't we all like to, take it easy, that is. Swinging about in a hammock all day. My Dad always wanted a hammock, now he has one, he says, 'I can't get in the flippin' thing now, without falling out the other side!' So of course, this card will be put by for him, probably Fathers Day (in June) as his birthday isn't until November, and it's a bit cold in November to be swinging about in a hammock! I've left the sentiment simple so I can change them if need be!
The Penny Black image was stamped and embossed, coloured with Promakers and I've done a bit of 3D-ing too. The papers are a mixture of Pink Petticoat, (the stripes) and My Minds Eye. (both came free with magazines) The key and key-hole are brads. They're by Woodware. Bit disappointed they didn't include hinges too! Or perhaps they do in another set. The font is a Freebie, it's called GoodDog and you can download it HERE where you'll find two downloads, one with extra dots! (GoodDog Cool)

A bit of a sad day today Frog the Cat passed away. She would've been 19 in September.

Spot The Difference #3 Mars Attack! "We Come In Peas" (shoot to kill, shoot to kill!)

Fab card by Kris from Madaboutpooh

Sorry you missed this one!

And because I'm such a Trekkie... I had to add this! (all together now...Star Trekking...)

It's Wednesday, It's WOYW, and it's... What the??

Ok, I'm up early this morning as I forgot to get this done last night. Imagine, (if you dare) me typing away til three in the morning..but no! Instead... imagine me... snoring! Oops... Woke up about four, (after being chased by some very odd looking shoes) so when you think about it, I was still typing away and scribbling out my freebie before the Sun came up. Where does the time go?? I'm beginning to think we are all in some kind of matrix time warp, plugged into an alien system that feeds other worlds. Some of us manage to go about our everyday lives not noticing how the time evaporates into one long WEDNESDAY, as the other days no longer exist in the real world.. CUT! (who wrote this rubbish?!?)
OK, back to reality as we all know it. Here's my work bench looking (for me) tidy-ish. Stuff I'm in the middle of~ some House Mouse stamps waiting for the 'Kling-on' (but no sign of Captain Kirk) A cup of frothy coffee topped with Chocolate (and bottomed with Nuttella, as it doesn't float)
New storage boxes that mother-in-law was going to throw out! And a posh black hat box (or a box that is black that used to house a hat) I'm now using as my photo-box.
So that's What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday pioneered by the one and only Julia, where other beings interested in doing weird things with ink, paper, paint, glue and other stuff, ~click here to see Doones dolls~ all go and nose around over a hundred other crafty desks to see what every one else is doing... some do it on the floor, some do it on the bed, some, like me even do it on the ironing board once they've covered everything else in glitter and glue. No matter where you do it, just do it and come and show us! And this is when you'll realise... every day really is... Wednesday! And as it is Wednesday, I'm at work, this is on timer and I'll catch you all later...Thank you for stopping... bye...

Robbie's Rocket Spot The Difference Answers!

Here's the answers to the last Spot The Difference, Robbie's Rocket, which was started last Wednesday. I've put both the pictures up, seeing they both had bits missing or added. Loads of you entered this time, and got it right! I was quite amazed!! A few on the comment and loads of emails! Even Anonymous had a go, but didn't get it right, aw shame! So thank you!
Well done to Star who was the first one to 'spot' there was actually 16 differences. So Star email me for a Digi of your choice from the store for being too clever! And now for the overall winner, (which doesn't mean you win an overall!)

Hubby dips his hand in the hat... (That's my hat, I bought it on the Isle of Wight..(get on with it!) pulls out a name...and the winner is... Drum roll please Sidney!!!

Relax! It's Only A Mouse!

Aw, look at this little House Mouse relaxing on a sunflower in the sun. (Sun; bright yellow thing that shines in the sky, often seen in summer, never seen at night.) Thank you to Sue for the image (I won some of the House Mouse blog hop candy a little while back!) Just a quick card, as I've been a bit busy and haven't made any cards, which I can blog about, for ages...
I've cut a 5½ x5½ square card down a snip as I only had a tiny bit of this green 'grass' backing paper, from Craft Creations. Green and cream seem to be my favourite combination whenever I've used these House Mouses!
I've use Promakers to colour the image as well as the flowers and some of the leaves. The font is a freebie, it's called Pea Anna-Banana and you can download it HERE. Look out for all their other fabulous fonts while you're there. Thanks for stopping by!

Recycled? Stone me!

Probably not what you can call real recycling, but many years ago we were sitting on a pebble beach, probably West Bay (or maybe not) and me, being into gardening at the time and laying paths and building rock gardens, suddenly noticed how 'nice' the little stones were. Not great lumps, all sharp and flint like, straight from a gravel pit, as found on our local beach, but tiny, round, smooth, almost gem-like, which glittered happily as the waves gently run back and forth over them. I filled a small bag with these little stones. Back then of course it wasn't taboo to remove pebbles and shells from the beach as it is now. Later I decided they were far too pretty to edge a small pond so instead used them to cover a rather cheap wooden picture frame. And this is it. I used PVA glue to fix them to the frame. The Die-cut Heart ♥ was made from a photo glue tube. Don't forget Quirky Craft's has a recycled romance challenge still going on at the moment...I was going to swap the picture for one of a wedding but decided, little Maria would look just fine.
New Followers! Hi and and a big (((wave)) to Nancy, a new blogger, who has made some lovely cards using my digis. Dragonllew, no link but I think I've found you! Alsteely, no link here and too many on Goggle to choose (they might not be you!) Lisa, another no linker and Sally!! Yay Sally has two blogs. I 'know' Sally through forums, I think Sally's blog was the first or second one I joined and then just had to have a go at making my own...it took me months to work things out (deleted it once by mistake!) but I'm now coming up to my second year!!
There's only one Challenge I've found so far I thought I could enter this into...(not read all the rules yet!!) so I hope it fits! Have a Happy Weekend. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Spot The Difference #2 Finished

Here's Robbie's Rocket again... or is it??? Look at the cartoon below this post and you should find 16 Differences (Someone's found my extra one!! Only one person found the extra one last time but missed out on two others) Some thing's have been added, while others have been taken away! Comments have been switched off...I'll only add the one's without answers or, email me 'Robbie Rocket' in the subject title, at dragonsmoore at googlemail dot com
Have as many goes as you like! Will tell you the winner next Tuesday! Winner wins a digi.

THIS has FINISHED now...look out for the latest one!!

Wow, it's Wednesday.

It's What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!! Yay!! Good morning all you WOYWWers!! If you want to join in, you know where to go, nip over to Julia's blog, the queen of all things on crafty desks.
My 'Bench' is a bit sort of 'tidy' this week for me, as I had to clear away in to the craft room so Tom (S-I-L) and Emma (daughter) could make their Valentine cards on Sunday...
Here it is, my bench. A few dragon digi's I'm doing, ribbons, stickers and heart papers I found for Tom and Emma to to their cards . Please note, I tidied up the stamp shelf! Most of my Christmas stamps are now in a 'Really Useful Box' (Take a photo, it won't last!) It's tidy mainly because I've been doodling most of the week, in here and in the living room on the dining table... (For those who asked, we usually eat in the kitchen during the week)
Again, the dining table's not too bad either. (Who are you and what have you done with Lyn??) The start of today's freebie, another dragon doodle, lip-balm, pair of socks and some bendy arty ruler thingies.
I've put this on timer...Hopefully it will appear on the right day, at the right time (but it has been known not to!) and I'll 'see' you when I get home from whatever I'll be doing today at work... Have a very Happy WOYWW!!

Sorry you missed this freebie...look out for the latest one!

...And the winner is.....
Well done Tracey, not many people spotted the spider's tiny leg was shorter! Email me, and let me know which digi you'd like from the store (Dragonsmoore, Spyder's Other Corner and I'll email it to you (Hubby's about to put a few more in...he doesn't know that yet!)
New Follower! Hi and a big((wave)) to cv.nikolaeva, but there's no link (yet!) New Freebie tomorrow...which I haven't drawn yet...oops... Thank you for stopping by!

Happy Valentine, Cards Made by Tom & Emma

Did anyone notice? No...what are you on about now? Yesterday's Quirky Post had Saturday's date on it... People will be moaning that I'm entering challenges before they are even out! Almost like doing a spot of time travelling!
Actually, wot 'appened woz... I typed the Post out on Saturday and then 'thought' I'd put it on timer, and then when it didn't appear, just pressed the post button. So, just remember, in case you haven't noticed, if you 'save anything in draft', it'll appear on that day no matter if you post it next year. I've change the Quirky date now back (or in this case, forward) to Sunday, which was yesterday. (Go and make a cuppa while I waffle) And yesterday we were going up to see Tom and Emma, (daughter and son-in-law) but Tom wanted to come down here "to make his Valentine Card" and Emma wanted to make one too. (That's so sweet)
So, I quickly tidy up (John laughs at this bit) and a few hours later Tom and Emma arrive armed with a Quickie Glue Pen, ready to do battle!
And here are the results! Aren't they great!! Tom made the red Heart and arrow with Forever Friends Bear stand up card, using red corrugated card and Pink Petticoat heart paper. All his own design and work and Emma made the Double Gem Heart on a pearl card, also all her own design. All those little gems, were suck on using a Quickie Glue Pen. Luckily I had some Valentine peel off stickers.
Later she added a line of red glitter all the way round the card too, but I forgot to take a picture of that.
Budding Crafters both of them!

Quirky Craft's Challenge is Rubbish!

Ok! I'm not being rude! It's true! Well, sort of! The Challenge over on Quirky Crafts has started. Did anyone guess what it is?? Nice and easy, with a little twist...
*Recycled Romance*
Ohoooo sounds a bit saucy... Anyway!! This weeks Challenge is being sponsored by the fabulous...
Which means, three lovely digi's will go to the Design Teams favourite crafty make. This challenge was set by Caro. So we would all love to see what you can come up with. Anything romantic (and crafty) but!! You have to use some thing that would normally (by normal people) either be thrown away or put into the recycle bin (or bag in my case)
I started off with a bent blank card, which I'd put by to use the card as card and not as a card, if you get my meaning, inked the edges with TH distressing ink, then found a scrap of Summer Driggs paper to cover that, and set about it with more ink and a nail file. I then decided to keep with the Summer Driggs papers, (freebies) but fixed those lovely heart papers (dance with me) on to some black 'felty type' paper, which was used as stuffing in a parcel, not nice enough to use on it's own, but too good to throw away... I then added a cardboard heart, a lovely red ribbon from 'ParkHouse' jewellery, no..not mine, in the bin at one of my other houses. (not my house!)
The tiny red hearts I started punching out years ago. Any time I had a nice box or packet too nice to throw away, I'd set to it with my punches. Most of these were Easter egg or perfume boxes. On some of the hearts you can see writing, I think it sort of 'adds' to it! (I bet you try to read it!) The flowers were fun to make, a bit fiddly, mainly because the punches didn't like the newspaper (too thin) so I punched out the newspaper, the brown parcel paper and the cellophane sweet wrappers at the same time, after I'd inked, scrunched them all up and then sprayed them with my only bottle of Cosmic Shimmers. The golden hearts were cut using my BigShot from... photo glue tubes, empty of course! Oh yes, the little Raccoon is Cupid Ridley and he can be found Here.
There you go! Sorry about the odd sized writing, blogger just HATEs it if I paste and copy!! (and I've already typed it all out again! Anyway!!! Pop over to Quirky Crafts and join in.
Now I did find some challenges for this card and now I'm back from skiving off somewhere I'll add them! One more thing, because I made this card last week, I've changed the colour of Ridley (as I now have a darker grey Promaker!) I've also added mock stitching, Stickles red glitter to the flowers and added a sentiment. The Font is called Pea Leslie's Happy Font and you can download it for free Here. Right! That's about it!
Oh one more thing, ever fancied drawing your own doodles? Try it here, go on, it's fun!!
