I'm Going Around in Quirky Circles!

Evening everyone! yes, I am...going round in circles, so seeing it's my turn to set the theme over on Quirky Crafts Challenge Blog I thought it would be nice if everyone else was too! That's my Challenge. I want to see circles on any crafty project you create! They can be embossed, die-cuts, half circles, whole circles, tiny circles, BIG circles. Any kind of circle; circle shapes,  circle cards, lots of circle's or just one, as long as there's a circle or circles on your creation, (and yes! Dots are circles too!)
This fortnight, over at Quirky Crafts, we're sponsored by  Crackerbox Palace.
The Design Team (and guests)  have been given a few digi's to play with. I chose this little bird house with leaves (also comes as a stamp) and the tweety bird. (I've flipped one of them around the other way)
Although it's not very clear in the main pictures, I've started off using backing papers with a circular patten. (You can see that clearer on the inside picture) All the papers are freebies from Sherry K.Designs
(you'll find more freebies there and a few to buy too!)

I found a nice thick piece of brown/tan card from my stash, (was looking for something completely different) folded it (scored it with my bone folder....yes, I found it!) and then cut it down in size to about four and a half by five and three quarters inches. (Why? So I could use the cut off bit to fix the ribbon to.) Covered the card in the circle patterned paper after inking the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
I found a cogg die-cut already cut out in some other backing paper (it has writing on it) not sure where that came from, but the colour fitted in well, so I added the bird paper (printed smaller) behind it. Then punched out those little birds....but my punch kept jamming, (Grrrr) so I ended up using the inner circle from a cogg die-cut and layered them on circles coloured with the same colour Promarker I used on the house.
The blue brads are to make you think they're fixed to the card that way, but there's a 3D fold pad behind them.
I've flipped one of the birds the other way then added a few  more circles from the same paper set. I printed out the little bird The 'Home' ribbon is from Papermania and those round letters spelling out 'New' came from a mixed set by Laura Ashley.house a feThe brown ribbon under it, is recycled. Can't remember where it came from but it has the words Royal Jelly on the other shiny side.w times, coloured with Promarkers and 3D-ed it.
In side the card, I've added the bird paper again (a little bigger this time) and  the circle pattern again, which is also a little bigger and that lovely die-cut came free with an order I made a little while ago.(must get that die!)
Anyway, before I bore you to death... that's it, finished. Easy! So don't forget to join in over on Quirky Crafts. I'll be watching out for you!  Sorry if the pictures aren't quite as focused as they usually are, I had to use my phone, as once again, I have no batteries for my camera! (Yep... I checked the TV remote....wrong size!) That's it! Thank you for stopping by!

Second Wednesday Digi - On A Saturday!closed

Missing you all! Still haven't found a way of making more time! Thank you for stopping by! closed

This Weeks Digi (On A Saturday?) CLOSED

Sorry about missing freebies. Couldn't be helped, unless of course I had one of them Harry Potter Time Turners! Very quick freebie for you. I made him after finding a paper bag frog I made a hundreds years ago when I used to do Play School. The idea was the children could wear them as masks or,  using a smaller bag, use them as puppets!  A comment would be lovely! I'm missing blog land!! So a very big thank you to everyone who still stops by! CLOSED

A Reminder about Those Quirky Mystical Ladies

Sorry! Haven't had time to change this post. What with hospital appointments, dentist and dogs!!! Scrap and forget what I typed before as this lovely Fairy it no longer available at Stitchy, (who are our wonderful sponsors for this challenge) soooo I can't use her as my DT card, which also means I have no time to make another. Never mind! If I can find a way to 'cheat' I will!
The Mystical Ladies challenge is still going on, so there's still time to join in! You of course can use any Mystical lady you like!
Okay....The picture is more 'glarey' than fairy, but that's because the mirror paper reflected the light so much. I've also used my die-cuts and embossing folders, as well as punches. The silver shinny paper you can see, is actually sticky back (great for die-cuts) but I didn't realise that until I'd stuck it on...and  a while later it fell off leaving the lining well and truly stuck! I've even used the waste lining too. (the white cog's inside)
The lovely black card with the silver snowflakes came from a crafty shop ages ago. I only had one sheet so had to add plain black card inside. (but I do have it in other colours and will use it again)
I was going to 3D the fairy- but run out of time (Have to be up early in the morning and it's now...just gone one I should be snoring!) so decided there was already enough layers.
She has glitter on her wings fixed on by using a Quicky Glue pen and she's been coloured using different shades of ice grey Promarkers.
The little sentiment 'Dream' comes from a sheet by Craft Creations, which I've been using a lot lately. Very useful! Must get some more! I've used one of my favourite card shapes, where you cut half the back off, turn it round and then fix a smaller card on the front. (still not sure what they're called.) I started trying to load these pictures around eleven o'clock tonight and they've only just up loaded, blogger must be very busy! Well that's it for now. Thank you for stopping by! And sorry about my big mistake! I hope to add this to some...

At last Some....Quirky Mythical Ladies!

Evening, morning! This is a very quick post coz I'm hoping to sneak in without anyone noticing!  Here's my very very late DT card for Quirky Crafts challenge #23 "Quirky Mythical Ladies" which started last Sunday. Kemley is hosting this theme and it's her first challenge so pop over and say hi!! and of course join in!!
 Kemley would love to see...
Mermaids, elves, warriors, fairies, goddesses, nymphs etc. They make different choices, they star in many stories in different cultures. Those stories are filled with magic, love, faith, hope and fantasy.  kemley invites you to dream and create a project with these mythical ladies!
Stitchy Bear are our sponsors, so some lovely prizes for our winners!
Here' my card, Sorry Kemley for being so late! This week has been manic...(is that a word?) anyway, enough of that and back to the card...Everything has been inked and disdressed....including me!
I've printed this fairy image by Floppy Latte Designs called Fairy Moon over some snowflakes by PinkPetticoat. (In side I've used blue stars) Layered it up over more of the same snown flakes, in white, added some sticky lace bought from Trago Mills last time I was down in Cornwall. (Love Trago Mills)  added two corner die-cuts in silver miri card, and two silver edged die-cut sentiments (a tiny fairy and the word 'Dream') from a sheet by Craft Creations.
I've also added tiny snowflake punched out shapes and loads of Stickles Glitter glue, along with some white Eye-lash wool...
I'll add this to last weeks challenge post over on Quirky...but you might see it on this weeks reminder post too...as I'm not sure where I'll be! Well, that's it, that's my Mythical Lady.. ...a fairy.... or are they? You could say,  most of the time, I'm away with the fairies...
