Mum's Flower Festival

Sorry no blogging for days and I'm soooo far behind I've caught myself coming back! (This is on timer)Been helping mum with her Church Flower Festival. Took some pictures, they' may be a little dark but you can get the gist of it all... The sea was the theme, which is why she wanted me to make her those Seahorses! I made her some more, shown here, attached to clear bead thread so she could hang them. Here are a few pictures taken while every one was staging for the Church Flower Festival. I think everyone did a great job!

This picture is part of a bigger arrangement ~ I noticed the 'cork'...it's really a shredded cardboard box.
There was loads more, but weren't finished so I'll nab more pictures off of mother later!

A Quirky Bit Late!

Hi Guys, it's that Quirky Time again... It's Cazzy's turn to set the theme, so get your thinking caps on! This time we're sponsored by Stitchy Bear Stamps and Digital Delights! And the challenges is.... BLACK and ONE other BRIGHT colour! AND (There's more....NO SQUARE OR RECTANGLES  unless you do a scrap page or journal cover, etc.... right!?! This is what I've come up with. I've used my bottle template, cut the bottle bottom straight so it will stand up and, used black card and a nice bright gold/yellow for my bright colour.  (White card coloured with a ProMarker)
The digi comes from Stitchy Bear HERE. I've 3D-ed him, just to make him 'pop' a bit. I've added some gold patterned card for the top of the bottle, with some embossed lines so it looks like a top. I've also rubbed on a bit of gold foil, but that doesn't really look too good, never mind. I then added some embossed die cuts, just to add a bit of interest.
Font is a freebie its called Adventurer Black SF Download HERE. That's it I think! Pop over to Quirky Crafts and join in! I'm not here so Mr Blogger will post  this... Hope you've all had a fabulous weekend! Thank you for stopping by!

WOYWW this week??? #203

Today's, Wednesdays Desk
Happy WOYWW! Not a lot on mine this week, did a few cards over the weekend and spent ages making seahorses out of acetate for my mum's flower Festival this coming week-end. The paper seahorse turned out to be a bit heavy....or big....(really didn't like them)  The flat (double sided) acetate are a lot better, the embossing makes them sparkle a bit! I think I might make something else out of printed on acetate.... So that's what's on my desk. Why not nip over to Julie's Stamping Ground, and join in!
Sunday's desk

** Added later... And this is what's on my desk now... different seahorses. The embossed acetate sparkles so they don't need much more than colouring with Promarkers.(I've coloured the paper sandwiched in between the acetate. Colouring the acetate didn't work very well. These ones have fine bead thread through the inside so they can be hung up

This Weeks Wednesday Digi: CLOSED

Happy (Belated) Birthday Francis (From George and Rufus)

"Happy Earth Day (and I only know that because  Google says so! Over the weekend, I made a card for the dogs (George and Rufus) which I dog/house sit, to 'give' to their daddy.... and this is the card I made... complete with 'chewed' corner and a couple of silly dogs on the front! All the digi's are from Bugaboo (one of the dogs I flipped the other way) Coloured with Promarkers and 3D-ed them, making about four layers.
The spotty back ground, I did my self on the computer very quickly, as I wanted to print everything out together, including the seniment at the bottom, then silly me had a 'tiny' bit of charcoal on my finger (where from???) and 'drew' a scribble' on  it! Bother! so, covered that little mistake with the balloons.
I used a punch to 'bite' the corner, but it wouldn't go through, so ended up cutting along the 'chewed' line.
The Freebie Font on the front I've linked before, it's called 'Cool Dots' down load it HERE or just Google the name. And again, that 3D glue shows through...I wish it wouldn't!! Inside I've used another Bugaboo image and sentiment! That's it for now!! Thank you for stopping by!

A Quirky Reminder With a Dragon

Just a quickie to remind you all about the challenge over on Quirky Crafts.  This time, Caro chose anything with Wings and Clouds! Our sponsors are Doodle Dragon and Bugaboo!!!
Here's my card. I've used a Bugaboo Dragon Clyde and Friend  That's the 'wings' covered! He also comes with his own sentiment, although this time I've added my own.
For my clouds I've added my own drawn ones and some freebie papers I'm sure came from Summer Driggs. I have linked them before.. Little spring in your step kit.
They have rainbows and clouds on them, all in pink, so that's why I went with pink. I've 3D-ed Clyde, fixed him over the rainbow/cloud papers using the PNG image and the other pink papers (to make it look more layered) and then printed it out all together with three other Clydes, then coloured them all with Promakers and scribbled round the papers with a black tempo pen. The pink flowery backing paper right at the back came from Papermania's Honey and Hugs. (I thought it was a bit thin)
I've also used a Tim Holtz steam-punk die-cut to frame the sentiment, and a bit of another one (which I didn't cut probably, but it's nicely embossed...and I didn't want to throw it away)  to peep out from behind the clouds I've drawn.
The Font is a freebie. It's called Talking To The Moon and you can download it HERE
The Challenge reminder should show up later... but I think they're all having a  lie in this morning!  Once again, I'm not here, but I won't be taking my laptop with me this time...or maybe I can get John to take his little one...Mmmmm) ...  but I think I can manage without it for a few hours! Thank you for stopping by! When I get back, I'd love to enter this into some...

An Acetate Seahorse!

I have at last finished something I started. Well, not really as what I started was a Papier-mâché  (French for chewed paper) sea horse/s...there was supposed to be six of them and I thought they looked like skinned dead mice, after the cat had played with them. They would've looked better once painted, but were really a bit too heavy looking for a flower arrangement I thought. (My mum's doing one of her festivals next week, it's about the sea, she has shells... and needed seahorses) So I thought I'd make them and mixed up paper and PVA glue..... then had a better idea.. (Thank goodness!) You can see the other one's in the picture look a bit...yuk!
I used acetate and printed six of my digi' seahorse's on paper (that was a mistake, but I ended up using it!) and on the acetate. I threw some clear embossing power over them as soon as they came out of the printer, so the ink wouldn't smudge and very gently heat set it. The acetate 'wobbled' a bit, but it was okay. I had them facing both ways (you can turn them over as they are printed both sides) so they can be placed anywhere in the arrangement. I did colour the acetate first but that didn't work well, so coloured the paper and then stuck the two halves together, run the acetate seahorses through a Xyron with a permanent adhesive then stuck the two sides together. I've added stickles glitter to one of them so far, but that might be too much as they do glitter a bit anyway. (the embossing bit is on the out side so it 'feels' like scales) The digi is in the store for 99p.  I'll show you the flower arrangement next week! Hope they're okay!
ok!

It's Quirky! Wings and Clouds!

Here's one of my other DT cards for this fortnights challenge over  on Quirky Crafts, where you have to use wings and clouds. I have changed it a tiny bit but only the eagle eyed among you will notice, cos they are very tiny button brads. I wanted to add flowers too but they didn't match the papers colour and so, they got whipped off.
I've also 3D-ed the digi now, by adding another butterfly and another bug. I've used 'Scene it' Spring Time from Bugaboo, one of our sponsors and, seeing I now have black ink, I'll be making a few more for this Sunday's reminder... hopefully!
The papers I've used are all from PinkPetticoat, just bits I already (as I didn't have any ink at the time, which is why the sentiment is in pink!) and the arrow I made years ago, it was left over from another card... it fel loff the shelf, so I thought I'd use it because it was pink!
The digi was printed with the background clouds already attached, so the clouds are a little smaller than the clouds on the actual card. The card ws one of those with a window on the front, I've had for YEARS! but I've just covered the gap with the papers and layer 'picture', which is 'hanging' from a brad using 'drawn' on string. I've also left white edging round the papers and then gone round with a black marker pen to give the illusion of more layers.
I've left the inside blank this time, just for a change and because I'm nearly out of glue! Honestly, if it's not one thing, it's the other!! Wish I had a crafty shop next door!! My other wings and clouds DT card is HERE Scroll down for my Wednesday freebie and my wine bottle template. More clouds and rainbow papers HERE  Thanks for stopping by!!

Freebie Bottle Template For You!

I thought you might find this useful. The left side as you look at it is slightly 'flatter' than the right side so, if you wanted to, you can place it over the fold of a card and make a bottle card. Drawn on an A4 sized paper so you can make it any size you want. (Full size to tiny!) This little one on the left I did on the laptop in less than a minute.  Just click and save!! WOYWW 202!

Morning WOYWWers! I'm still very much lost in my craft room, having 'tried' and failed to tidy it, so I sit here sharing my chair with the lodger cat (Jinx) as we are finally trapped in here!! Not a lot has happen here since the time before. My turntable pen holder, still not finished, some freebies from a few magazines and bits left from made cards. I have painted one of the seahorses, now that they are dry, but feel they're too heavy to place amongst flowers, so I may rethink and use acetate or plastic instead. Two cards on the lleft side of the desk are last weeks DT cards, one I wanted to add a bit more to it before I 'posted' it here (it's on the Quirky Blog all ready)and another that OHOO!! no! Don't look! its' for the 'reminder' post next weekend! (Never mind no one will notice and it's not quite finished!) and you know what the challenge is  all ready.
I'm still out of black ink for my printer, so all my sentiments are going to have to be pink or green or...
And talking about the Lodger Cat, (seen here snozzzzzing wiv hubby!) his owners finally saw me out walking round the village (He likes to come with me, wherever I go), I knew  one day they would, just didn't think it would take nearly two years! Anyway, he is now officially my lodger cat, she said he's never stayed put in all his life. Well, I think he does now... Have a great crafty week! Thank you for stopping by and an extra thank you to those of you 'reading' my stories on Wattpad! Now pop over to The Stamping Ground  and join in!

A Quirky Pike has Caught A Bug!

I'm sure Mr Pike hasn't really caught a bug, but that's all I could think of, because, it's Quirky Time again! It's Caro's turn to set the challenge, and the theme for this fortnight is...
WINGS AND CLOUDS
Well that's quirky!!
Here's one of my cards, using a Dustin Pike digi image, from Doodle Dragon Studios. Dustin is sponsoring Quirky Crafts this time, along with Bugaboo!! Two of my all time favourites! I'll show you my other card later...at the moment I'm not here, soooo, this is all you'll see. But, if I'm back before we go live... well, then you'll never know I wasn't here, coz I'll scrub all this out and write something different!!
All the papers used come from PinkPetticoat, although there should be more black in with the stripes, but I've run out of ink.
First I printed the fairy frog on to the 'cloud' paper and then added layers, by cutting off legs, wings and the mushroom's bottom bit! The doily was from a packet free from Crafts Beautiful. I've added button brads and little metal brads. The flowers have brads too. (there's lots of brads on this card!) I've also added tiny punched out frogs too.
The font is a freebie, I can't remember what it's called, but I've found one similar called Hobbit SF  I'll add the other font later.
Thanks it for now, hope to add this to same...

A Quirky Sneaky Peek: Hidden Freebie!!

Hi guys! I'm typing this in sis-in-laws dining room, see, you can't say I'm not keen... (addicted perhaps!) Here's a sneak peek of my DT card for Quirky Crafts. I usually put in a hidden freebie in here...shall I? (YES!) Well I haven't brought the printer/scanner with me so IT'S NOT HERE YET... I'll add it later, when I'm home! IT@S HERE NOW!!! Actually hidden on this blog but you will find the LINK here somewhere! Any way, here's the sneak peek, with the hiden freebie! Can you guess what Caro has chosen for this fortnights challenge? ...say what you see... it's easy!! (IT's Here now,the freebie) But you have to HUNT 4 it. Run your mouse over the words and you'll find it! Hope you like flowers.

Happy Anniversary to Me and Him!

Well, I had to make a card, didn't I?!? Yes...course he remembered and bought me one too! and!!!!!! Remember I 'washed' my mobile phone in the washing machine, well, it died!  The sim card still works tho and dear hubby John, bought me, (with Tesco vouchers) a new mobile phone! so it can have the same number, yay! Must remember not to wash it again!
Here's the card I made using this weeks freebie, Ollie Owl. Next week he'll be in the store for 99p so grab him quick. Normally as a freebie he just comes as a Jpeg but seeing it's 'Anniversary weekend' you can nab him, coloured and PNG too. If you have trouble getting it, email me, so I can send him to you. (most of your comments do not come with emails.
The papers I used come from a 'Wellington' 6x6 paper stack, great papers for a guy's card I think. This ones have nuts on them...(now now...nuts as in fruit and nuts....)
I've 3D-ed the little owl and coloured him with ProMarkers. Again the silicone glue was marking the card/paper so I hid the marks with red miri card hearts. Must either find glue that dosen't do this or find better card/paper because it never used to do this When I used Tesco's Finest, which they no longer do..
The sentiment I did on the computer, "I'm Still Nuts About Yooo" because  I am totally nuts about him even after all this time!! It's all a bit dim as I did it in brown. I'm running out of black ink, again!
The font is a freebie, it's called Pepinot download it HERE That's it I think!   Thank you for stopping by! I'd like to add this to a few...

It's free, go read, vote and follow.  Not here at the mo, so watch out for the Wednesday freebie coming up on Thursday!! Sorry!!
And...could Evelyn Stewart of Plattsmouth USA get in touch with me as your email  isn't working!

Is it WOYWW 201? I think so....

Oh my goodness What's On Your Workdesk this Wednesday!??? (Apart from a cold mug of tea and two Jaffa cakes?) Is it a skinned mouse? A mummified 'thing'? or.... a newspaper and PVA glue, seahorse. Yes! (Well that's what's it's supposed to be!) My mum wants me to make her some Seahorses for her flower club demonstration at the end of the month...oh dear, they don't look too good at the moment do they. (No Lyn) I've had to move out of my crafty room (it's in such a mess!) and play on the dinning table. Hopefully they will look better once they are painted!!  So, WOYW this Week?? Go and join in over  at the Stamping Ground!! See you there. Bye For Now!!!

A Quirky Reminder (So You Don't Forget)

Afternoon! Just  a quick reminder that you still have another week to join in with my challenge over on  Quirky Crafts. A Sketch or/and  add anything from the bingo card. Easy! For my second card I chose this happy little elephant, one I'd had before from our sponsors Robyn's Fetish. I've 3D-ed him by cutting off an ear, a leg and his tail, but I don't think he minded! I've coloured him with fifty five shades of grey ProMarkers!
The pink paper behind him is also from Robyn's Fetish, which I printed him straight on to. The others are from a Me to You 'With Love' paper stack.
I started using the Sketch and then found the elephant was too big to use my circle die cuts soI went with a rectangle instead. You can do the same too as we won't mind if you don't use the sketch! But! We want you to use as many things as you can from the Bingo.
From the Bingo I've used metal brads, a little trumpet, which is a tin brad, quite thin. I've added embossed corner peel-offs, mock stitching, ribbon and bakers twine. I thought it needed something else, sooo, if you look closely you'll notice the top picture is different from the rest of the pictures, as I've added a die-cut, gems and punched out butterflies. Hmmm but can you see? The gel glue I used shows through the card! (I keep getting that!) The little elephant now looks like he's been rolling about in the dirt! I keep trying different Gels and silicone glues but this keeps happening, so, what glue do you use?? Let me know!! Wish I'd left him as he was now! Inside I've also used my latest new die-cut, so there's a white space to write on.
The Font is a freebie. It's called Lamebrain BRK you can download it HERE! That's it, pop over to Quirky Crafts to see the sketch and the bingo card and come and join in! I hope to add this to some...
