A New Moo from the Bug!

Bugaboo has a new release today, this cute baby calf! It's not my official GDT card but I wanted to make one anyway and have a practice at adding the Bugaboo Bear logo (Yay!!) See what everyone else has done with this cute baby calf over on Catch The bug!
Of course, because I was in a hurry, everything went wrong!!! (we've off to Stornaway, (Scotland) going to stay over at Debs, meaning, I now have one day less to get everything ready) I added the logo easy last night on my Soccer girl but could I remember how I did it this morning?? No!
And this is about my fourth attempt at making the card!!! Stopped about two this morning, started again at 7 and it's now gone midday!! Never mind I've done it now, that's all that counts!!
The Card...I decided to make an Easel card using the digi twice to look like twins and do a bit of 3D-ing.
I edged the card with a black Promarker, covered with my own stripy paper, using Promarkers, which will be added as a freebie in the next post. I printed out the calf a few times, as I was going to decoupage both of them...Now, make sure when you copy, that they are all the SAME size!
My first try they were different sizes, which I didn't notice until I'd cut them all out! and of course you can't do a bit of 3D-ing if the digi's aren't the same size... I gave up on the first card, the second got black finger marks on it coz it got all gluey and even pulling bits off and cutting other bits out couldn't save it!
Anyway, I've added brads, a ribbon, a little button, a teddy button and a nappy pin. The bit which holds the Easel up is a folded piece of card cut out with a border punch. I made the sentiment on the computer.
The Font is a freebie! I've linked it before. It's called Black boys on mopeds download it HERE or Google the name.
That's it for now. Really sorry there's no new freebie this Wednesday ...old one will stay there til next week now, I'll email it out when I get back. Hidden freebie is still there and so is last weeks.
I've put my WOYWW on Timer but I doubt I'll be able to link it or pop in to see you...(I might, as John is taking his little Net book and his dongle~ but Google shut me down after I used his dongle in a field, thought the Russians or the Arabs were hi jacking my Gmail! very scary and there's no telly at the Croft, and no internet! (but there is a lot of sheep!)
Saturday is Alistair's birthday. We're meeting all his brothers, sisters, cousins, nephews and nieces. We'll be scattering his ashes near the loch where he used to fish, next to the croft. It's where he wanted to be. Strangely, even though he died so suddenly, only a month before, he'd told Debs that's where he'd like to be.
Back to the card!! I'd love to enter it into a few....

Try My Quirky Cup Cakes?

Evening ! It's That Quirky Time again... every two weeks we have a quirky challenge. This fortnight we're sponsored by Limited Runs and Paper Pretties so that means more prizes!
It's Cazzy's turn to set the theme and she wants to see...
*CUP CAKES*
on your creations! The Quirkier the better!!
So here's mine! I chose to use this Ladybug Swirl cup cake from Limited Runs and as I said over on the Quirky Blog, my link leads to loads of lovely cup cakes and I know I put on at least 12lbs just looking at them!!
The Card. I started by edging a plain pearl card with red Poppy Promarker, (all the red under lay is card edged with Promarker) Printed out about four cup cakes, coloured them, cut one out with a Scalloped circle Nestie and cut the others up to do a bit of 3D-ing. The icing and the ladybirds.
I've used, freebie paper, the red gingham is from activityvillage.co.uk or a bit darker HERE but sorry, the cup cakes were freebies, but are now 99p for the set, download from Paper Craft's Inspiration Magazine HERE (and it took me ages to find them too!) Never mind get over there anyway and save this month's freebies they are fabulous!
Where was I? Oh yes, I just kept adding anything that matched up with the colours or went well with my Ladybird cup cake... even to adding party backing paper to the back of the card, although why I added buttons...? Maybe it was just their colour or I was thinking Chocolate buttons!!
The paper flowers were from a freebie card LMC making set from Crafts Beautiful, bought via Tesco's this month. The large ladybird brad is from a set by Forever Friends ...or ...might be from Pepper and Friends... the rest is from my stash. The two wooden ladybirds were stuck to tiny pegs, but I wrenched them off with a pair of glue ruined scissors!
The Font is a freebie it's called Denne Kitten Heels and you can download that HERE or just Google the name.
As you can see by the picture, I couldn't help but add Mad Madison with her axe to the inside of this card!
That's it for now, except I've just noticed blogger telling me I've used up 97% of my allotted blog space...what happens when I reach 100%?? Scarrry!!! Anyway, pop over to Quirky Crafts and join in. Also, if you use Limited Runs Digital images join in their Gallery Challenge HERE.
This is on Timer, I'm not here, so I'll add challenges later, we're having tea with Lady Pam.... hope we all don't break her new little table!!!*

But!!! It Must be Quirky! Very Quirky-ish or not that Quirky, in fact not being Quirky would in FaCT make it even more Quirky...

Happy Friday! I've Scored With A Bug!!!

Yay...It's Friday!! And I can now finally tell you that me, myself, and little I, (little??) have all been invited to join Bugaboo as a Guest Designer for August and September!!
Yay! I'll stop jigging now, coz I've gone a bit giddy! (Ohoo ice cream head ache!)
So!! Here's my very First Card For Bugaboo Stamps using today's fab Friday Freebie!
AKV-Girls-Soccer-7

You can download her all week from the Store where you can also buy the rest of her team mates!! So get your boots on, get over there, download her, colour her up and join in with some of the challenges over on Bugaboo, or even the many Challenges they sponsor.
My Card. First, of course, I did my normal trick of edging the pearl card with a black Promarker. Then I coloured a PNG AKV-Girls-Soccer-7 in PaintNet, saved her to 'My Craft Studio' added my own stripy paper and the Fluffy Clouds paper (PinkPetticoat) resized everything, putting the fluffy clouds over the striped papers and the Soccer Girl over the Fluffy Clouds... easy! (although if you've gone cross eyed at this point...or your brain has frozen over, I'll understand...)
Then copied Soccer Girl again so I had two of her, for a little bit of 3D-ing... printed it all out....and oops...she had green hair...but it suits her, don't you think!?! I like the green hair...it's very now, and will be, until I get more ink for my printer!
I cut a slice off the stripy paper, put in another line of black Promarker down the card, fixed it all onto the front of the card, scribbled round the edges with a fine black pen, cut the other soccer girls legs off... her pony tail and her arms then fixed her body, head, knees, boots and ball, back over the other image using silicone glue.
Finished by adding a bit of glitter to her pony-tail clip, the foam flowers, (coz they aren't so 'girlie' as other flowers) and the green gems. (Silicone glue and a Quickie Glue Pen)
The foam flowers I cut out using a punch and a die-cut. Had them scattered about my worktop most of the week as a little 'hint' as to what was coming... along with the soccer girl papers inside the card. (There was a tiny square of these papers in my WOYWW photo) If you're not sure how to do this there's a 'How to make Your Own Papers' Tutorial over at Bugaboo HERE by Min.
I coloured the digi in PaintNet first, saved as a PGN and then just copied and pasted on to a new Word page and continued to copy and paste until I had enough, turning them every which way.
I also 'tiled' her. (In My Craft Studio) Once printed and cut out, I coloured the strip with a yellow Promarker.
As you can see by the picture, one side of the inside of the card has a pocket, so you can add a gift token or birthday money! (any family watching, it won't be that much...)
The Font is a freebie it's called Dragline BTN dm and you can download that HERE
I have a few Challenges I'd love to enter this little Soccer girl into... Hope you like her! Thank you for stopping by!!!

Happy Birthday Les..

It's was John's step dad, Les's birthday yesterday, and I found the perfect image from the Forever Friends collection, 'Just For Him' papers. Well, a bit of a cheat really as it is just a picture on the paper. But it was the hat that did it. Les has one just like it, and
he loves to sit out in the gardens, in his chair with a nice cuppa, so, as I said, it was the perfect picture to use for his Birthday card.
Three of the papers came from this collect, except for the pink check inside, that one came from a 6x6 pack 'For You' Both these packs I've had for ages. I really should use them up, seeing once more...I'm out of printer ink! Where does it go!!!??
How I made it. Easy! First I edged a pearl blank card with a dark brown Promarker. Cut the 6x6 papers down to fit, edged them with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo and fixed them on allowing a little of the brown Promarker edging to show. I covered the inside and the back in the same way, keeping back the strips I'd sliced off to add to the front and the inside of the card. Added little bit of micro glitter round the bear's hat, a few Card Candi, a little dragonfly gem, a sentiment and that's it!
The font is a freebie, of course, I liked the little hearts, it's called Cupid de Locke and you can download it HERE.
Too hot to stay crafting indoors but at the same time, too hot out side as well!! Hope you've all had a fabulous day.

John and Lady Pam's Car

Not done a lot of card making over the last few days....well I have, but you can't see them~ so instead here's a few pictures of John under Lady Pam's car. She popped down to see us during the week and said. "My car's doing silly things, and smells funny." Well, for a car that's only done about 14,000 miles in eight years....(she doesn't drive it much!) the clutch had completely burnt out. 'It's knackered!' said John and so was he when he's finished...
And for those of you who follow the blog.... he's also mended the picnic table.... so, like the car, it too, lives on to fight another day... In Pam's words, 'Clever little Tuppenny, isn't he!?'

The Day We Went To Downton Abbey.

Highclerecastle aka Downton Abbey
Me, John, him indoors, Deb, his sister and Lady Pam, all went to Downton Abbey on Wednesday. We thought, 'Sod the rain, lets go anyway'. For a while the sun shone down, we were in ore of it! 'What's that golden thing!?!' yelled John and we all started bowing to it...people passing giggled...
From the car park
The rain stayed away long enough for us to look around the gardens before we went into the House. Later when we came out, 'starving' we got the picnic table out. We put the umbrella's up, and told giggling people passing us, that it was summer and we were going to have a picnic no matter what!!
John and Deb under the Yew Arch
Lady Pam liked the picnic table and I was explaining that is was half price in Tesco's last year and that we hadn't used it more than four or five times... I was telling everyone how useful it was but how our 'other' picnic table, which was green and a lot heavier (and cheaper and lasted years) was a lot better, stronger...and.... but just as the words left my lips CRASH!!!! wine, ham sandwiches, sausage rolls, tuna baps, and tea went flying!!
John and Lady Pam
The legs gave out, trapping John and Deb on one side. I leaped up quickly to help Deb out, John rolled about in the grass trying to save his pint of Stella and Lady Pam?? didn't move! She just kept on scoffing her pork pie!! By this time it was really raining...a few had seen us all go flying and were giggling even more...just hope it wasn't videoed!!
The Wild Flower Meadow
By the time we packed up we were quite wet. Lady Pam put a plastic bag on her head... Downton Abbey, real name Highclerecastle was lovely and in spite of the rain, we had a lovely day.The broken picnic table!

It's Still Christmas In July!!

Well, it's certainly beginning to feel like it could be Christmas in July! The weather here in the UK is dark, dull, dismal, cloudy, cold and rain rain rain!! At least it's not snow snow snow!!
Here's my second DT card for my challenge 'Christmas In July,' which started yesterday over on Quirky Craft's Challenge Blog. Another image by Stitchy Bear Stamps our sponsor this fortnight. I've used 'Bah Humbug!' A Christmas card I could quite easily give to hubby John, because that's what he always says about Christmas! (Even when he's munching away on his mince pie and swigging down some festive spirit, wearing his new socks and a Santa hat, with musical lights!)
Coloured with ProMarkers. All the black you see, is just white pearl card coloured with a black Promarker. A good tip if you've run out of the coloured card you need~ use a Promarker instead, only on the bits you can see of course! (Pearl card works best)
The Poinsettias flowers I've had for ages, free from a crafty mag's exclusive design 'instant dimensional effect stickers' by Anita's. (Here's a LINK Leads to similar...Mine had Christmas trees too) Although they weren't very sticky so I've fixed them on using 3D foam pads.
The gell 'Ho Ho Ho' speech bubbles came off one sheet of about 15 Christmasy bits and pieces I've also had for 'years.'
I've also used a memory-box die-cut but cut it up to make use of the swirly bits around the flowers. Added a few red gems fixed on with a Quickie glue pen. All the Christmas papers I've used are by Pink Petticoat.
The Font is a freebie. It's called KG Strawberry Limeade and you can download it here or just Google the name. I think it's a fun font for jokey cards.
I've also used a Martha Stewart lace punch. Added some silvery grey eyelash wool and a snowflake ribbon. Santa has some micro fine glitter on his fluffy bits. And That's it!! I'm hoping to add this card into a number of Christmas In July....

It's Quirky Christmas...In July!

Hi guys, it's that Quirky Challenge time again. It's my turn to set the theme and at the time of typing I wasn't sure what to do... Something summery and hot? (ha ha ha) or...something freezing and wintry?? (Hmmm?) So after checking out some of the digi's our sponsors Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps were offering the Design Team to play with, it just had to be.....
Christmas In July!
So here's my first card. Yay, I've made two. Show you the other one later. I've used Busted from our sponsors. (I love that dog!! Grrrrr!)
I printed the Santa out two or three times so I could do a bit of decoupage. The top half of his body and head has been 3D-ed over the main image w
hich had been printed straight on to the blue 'snowy' paper (Scrapbook Wow). I coloured him with ProMarkers, using those thin nibs on the tiny fiddly bits.
The Christmas flowers I've had for years, along with the 'gel' sentiment, 'I love Santa' (It's the dog who loves Santa!)
The Christmas Tree and Holly papers are from a Christmas pack by Dovecraft, as is the sticky ribbon, which matches. I'm sure the red dotty paper comes from Hot Of The Press.
The epoxy brad come from a Forever Friends 'Cosy Christmas' set. The little bit of snow netting, is from my stash.
I finished off with a Memory Box die-cut in a gold, mock stitching, a Martha Steward border punch along the Christmas tree paper and a sprinkling of micro glitter on Santa's fluffy bits!
In side I've added a sentiment using a Woodware punch.
The Freebie Font is called Elastic Wrath and you can download it HERE
It only has letters, no extras like question marks, numbers or anything else. That's it for now. Pop over to Quirky Crafts and join in!
